Zum 24. Mal laedt das Kasseler Dokumentarfilm- und Videofest (13. - 18. November 2007) Kuenstler, Filmemacher, Verleiher, 
Galeristen, Hochschulen oder Institutionen ein, sich mit neuen Arbeiten und Projekten für die einzelnen Sektionen des Festivals zu 
bewerben. An sechs Festivaltagen kommen ca. 220 internationale Dokumentarfilme sowie experimentelle und kuenstlerische Arbeiten zur 
Aufführung. Das Festival praesentiert darüber hinaus die Medienkunstausstellung MONITORING, die DokfestLounge mit audiovisuellen 
Performances und die Fachtagung interfiction. Mit diesem Profil ist das Dokfest einzigartig in Hessen und wird im Herbst 
alljaehrlich zum Treffpunkt für sowohl ein regionales Publikum, wie auch Film- und Medienschaffende aus Deutschland, Europa und der 
ganzen Welt.

Das Festival lobt vier Preise aus, die Preisgelder in Höhe von insgesamt 10.000 Euro sowie das A38-Produktions-Stipendium umfassen:
/ "Goldener Schluessel" fuer die beste dokumentarische Nachwuchsarbeit (5.000 Euro Preisgeld, gefoerdert von der Stadt Kassel)
/ "Goldener Herkules" fuer eine herausragende nordhessische Produktion (2.500 Euro Preisgeld, gestiftet von der Tageszeitung HNA)
/ "Golden Cube" fuer die beste Installation der Ausstellung MONITORING (2.500 Euro Preisgeld, gestiftet von dem Kasseler 
Softwareunternehmen Micromata Objects GmbH)
/ "A38 Produktions-Stipendium": Das Festival lobt gemeinsam mit der Werkleitz Gesellschaft ein Produktions-Stipendium aus. Der 
dreimonatige Projektaufenthalt wird mit 4.000 Euro sowie zusaetzlichen Sachleistungen im Wert von 4.000 Euro unterstuetzt.

24th Kassel Documentary Film & Video Festival

The 24th Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival (November 13 to 18, 2007) invites all artists, filmmakers, distributors, gallery 
owners, universities or institutions to submit latest works and projects to the different sections of the festival program.
On six days the festival presents about 220 international documentary films as well as experimental and artistic works. Moreover, 
the media art exhibition MONITORING, the DokfestLounge with audiovisual performances and the interfiction symposium do complete the 
festival program. Having this profile the Kasseler Dokfest annually attracts both a regional audience as well as professionals of 
the film and media industry from Germany, Europe and the rest of the world.

The festival awards a total of four prizes, three of them endowed with Euro 10,000 in prize money as well the A38-Production Grant:
/ "Golden Key" for the best up-and-coming documentary of a young director (Euro 5,000, supported by the City of Kassel)
/ "Golden Hercules" for an outstanding production from the region of Northern Hesse (Euro 2,500, founded by the newspaper HNA)
/ "Golden Cube" for the best installation of the MONITORING exhibition (Euro 2,500, founded by Micromata Objects GmbH, a Kassel 
located Software Company)
/ "A38-Production Grant", a three-month artist-in-residence grant awarded in cooperation with the Werkleitz Gesellschaft Halle 
(4,000 for living and travelling expenses and additionally Euro 4,000 for allowance in kind)
