Speaking of Tatlin – Produktivismus, Kollektivismus und die Gegenwart

Der Aktualisierungsraum veranstaltet am kommenden Samstag einen Workshop im Rahmen der aktuellen Ausstellung mit der KuenstlerInnengruppe Henry VIII's Wives.

Der Workshop beginnt am nachmittag mit einer Einfuehrung zur produktivistischen, künstlerischen Praxis des revolutionären russischen Künstlers Vladimir Tatlin (1855-1953). Hiernach werden die eingeladenen TeilnehmerInnen Thesen zur Diskussion stellen, die die heutigen Moeglichkeiten zur Aktualisierung einer produktivistischen oder kollektivierenden Praxis ausloten, einer künstlerischen Produktion in der das Kunstobjekt eher ein Dokument zum Stand der Dinge ist als Artefakt. Tatlins künstlerische Praxis zwischen 1914 und 1929 bestand in Versuchen die künstlerische in die allgemeine Produktion auszuweiten. In seinen Petrograder Studios arbeitete er mit Ingenieuren, Stahlarbeitern und Künstlern zur “Materialkultur“ und konzipierte 1919 das nie verwirklichte „Monument zu Ehren der III.Internationale“, dessen fragmentische Realisierung sich Henry VIII’s Wives zum Ziel gesetzt haben. Im Workshop bietet Tatlins eigene Praxis den Anlass über Möglichkeiten und Potentiale der gegenwärtigen Praxis nachzudenken.

Kirsten Forkert (Montreal) ist Künstlerin, Autorin und Organisatorin. Ihre Arbeiten realisiert sie als Performances, Installationen und NetArt Projects in denen sie die Effekte des Neoliberalismus auf unsere subjektive Erlebsniswelt und die Frage wie Widerstand gedacht und umgesetzt werden kann untersucht. Sie hat in Gewerkschaften gearbeitet, ist Mitherausgeberin von FUSE Magazine und hat auf www.artwwurl.org an einem Projekt gearbeitet, dass das Verhältnis künstlerischer Praxis zum Bild des Intellektuellen und des Angestellten beleuchtet. Derzeit lebt sie in Malmö.

Peter Ott (HH) ist ein Filmemacher, der auch Musik macht. Sein letzter Film Jona (Hamburg) ( http://www.otthollo.de/JONA/index.html) lief auf der Dokumentarfilmwoche Duisburg. Gerade realisierte er gemeinsam mit Ted Gaier „Hölle Hamburg“ (http://www.otthollo.de/HH/). Zur Zeit lebt er in Weimar und Hamburg.

Rahel Puffert (HH) ist Kulturwissenschaftlerin, freie Kunstvermittlerin und Autorin. Wohnt in Hamburg.
Leitete eine Vermittlungsabteilung an der Städtischen Galerie Nordhorn. Forschungsschwerpunkt: 
"Vermittlungswege im Kontext Kunst". Lehrbeauftragte an der Universität Lüneburg. Mitglied des »Archiv Kultur & Soziale Bewegung« (www.archiv.glizz.net). Kooperationen mit »Target: Autonopop« (www.targetautonopop.org)

Christoph Schaefer (HH) ist ein Kuenstler, dessen Arbeiten sich im konkreten Zusammenhang von Stadt, Peripherie und der Sozialisation der Subjekte in ihnen bewegt. Seine Arbeiten negieren die Trennung privaten und öffentlichen Raum und aktivieren darin beide. Er arbeitet in Filmen, Performances, Vorträgen, Architekturen, Diagrammen, ist unter anderem Mitbegründer des „Park Fiction“ Projektes.

Speaking of Tatlin – Productivism, Collectivism and the present

On this coming Saturday, a workshop takes place at the Space for Actualisation which is part of ist current exhibition project with the artist group Henry VII’s Wives.

The workshops starts in the afternoon with an introduction into the productivist artistic practices of the revolutionary russian artist Vladimir Tatlin (1855-1953), after which the invited guests will present theses, thematizing the contemporary possibilities and impossibilities of actualising a productivist or collective artistic practice, an artistic practice in which the art object is itself more a comment on the state of affairs than an artefact. Tatlin’s own artistic practices between 1914 and 1929 consistent predominantly in practices which tried to expand the field of artistic into that of general production. In his Petrograd studios he worked in collaboration with engineers, steelworkers and artists on „material culture“ and conceptualized the never realized „Monument to the III.International“, whose fragmented realization Henry VIII`s Wives have set out to accomplish. In the workshop Tatlin’s own praxis provides the starting point to reflect on possibilities and potentials of contemporary praxis.

Kirsten Forkert (Montreal) is an artist, writer and organizer. Her work, which takes the form of performances, installations and net art projects, explores the effects of neoliberalism on our subjective experience, and also how we might imagine and enact resistance. She was also a union activist for two years and is a contributing editor for FUSE magazine. She is currently working on a net art project questioning the political role of the intellectual and the artist in relation to 'white collar' definitions of work, which can be viewed at www.artwurl.org . She is currently living in Malmö.

Peter Ott (HH) is a filmmaker, who also works with music. His last film Jona (Hamburg) ( http://www.otthollo.de/JONA/index.html) was on show at the Documentary Film Week Duisburg. He has just realised a film project in collaboration with Ted Gaier „Hölle Hamburg“ (http://www.otthollo.de/HH/). He currently lives in Hamburg and Weimar.

Rahel Puffert (HH) studies cultural studies and is an independent art mediator and author.She runs the art mediation department of the Städtischen Galerie Nordhorn. Her focus of reseach lies on: „Ways of Mediation in Art“. She teaches at the Cultural studies department of the University of Lüneburg and is a member of the »Archive Culture & Social Movements«(www.archiv.glizz.net) and cooperating with »Target: Autonopop« (www.targetautonopop.org)

Christoph Schaefer (HH) is an artist, whose productions are situated in the concrete interrelation of the city and the periphery and the socialization of the subjects in ist realms. His works negate the division between public and private space in order to activate both. He works in film, performance, lectures, architectures, diagrams and is co-founder of the „Park Fiction“ Project in Hamburg St.Pauli.
