"Throughout history, myriad civilizations came to 
the realization that good cannot exist without 
evil and developed myths, rituals, and social 
practices to embrace this balance. But the ways 
of modern humans have disrupted this 
understanding. We have become self-helpers and 
positive thinkers, climbing the ladder in search 
of comfort, convenience and happiness, eschewing 
all that is difficult and unpleasant. It is only 
a matter of time until that which we have 
dismissed: the ugly, the inconvenient, and the 
brutal explode back into our sanitized lives to 
reinstate that stasis which our ancestors so well 
understood.

We, the Thin Ice Collective, will examine how 
archaic customs have shaped the moral foundation 
of modern social practice and dissect commonly 
accepted ideas of what behavior is appropriate 
vs. inappropriate; exposing how the struggle 
between instinct and ego define and condition 
ethical behavior. We are continuously in search 
of a balance between our own extremes and the 
understanding that living can only be defined 
through the acceptance of death.

By achieving this balance, we rediscover the truth."
